Professional Eye Care is committed to the best practices as outlined by federal, state & local officials.
The health and safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. Please review the following precautions being implemented prior to your appointment:
1. Reschedule if you are sick.
To protect all who visit our offices, we are asking that anyone presenting of acute respiratory illness, fever, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, sneezing, body aches or has had known contact with a COVID19 or other communicable disease to please reschedule any non-emergent visit.
2. Masks Optional
We appreciate masks to protect our most vulnerable patients. Due to equipment fogging issues, we are leaving masks optional for all patients and staff. If you prefer our staff is fully masked for your visit, we are happy to oblige. Please let us know ahead of your appointment time so we may offer you the best protection possible.
3. Limit guests
We ask that you refrain from bringing additional persons to your appointment, and when needed that you limit it to one guest. We ask that parents do not bring multiple toddler age children to their exam. You can not properly supervise your child while you are busy with your eye exam. We will be happy to help you reschedule your appointment to another time if this is not possible.
4. Do your paperwork online.
You may update your contact information, insurance information, and medical history online via our website prior to your appointment.
5. Make an appointment or call ahead
We always prefer that you call ahead prior to arriving at the office for glasses pick-up/adjustments/repairs or to view frames in the optical in order to reduce the number of people in the office at one time. Additionally, this ensures a shorter wait time for all of our patients.
6. Have it shipped!
We will continue to ship contact lens supplies directly to your home if desired. Additional shipping chargers will apply.
7. Consider Telehealth
We do have available the option for a phone consultation or a HIPAA compliant video/webcam consultation for problem-focused visits such as irritated eyes or puffy eyelids. Our higher risk patients may want to start here prior to being seen at the office. Please call us and we can determine if this is right for you.
8. Wash hands, use hand sanitizer, do not touch your face.
As providers of medical eye care services, we have always maintained strict infection control policies and procedures. In response to COVID19, we have increased these efforts as outlined by the Center for Disease Control, including greater frequency of disinfection of shared items like tabletop surfaces, door handles, eyeglass frames, & pens, as well as the removal of nonessential shared items like magazines and toys from our waiting area. We are practicing diligent hand-washing and liberal use of hand sanitizers as well as social distancing when possible.
We strive to make you feel safe and comfortable at our office. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your office visit, feel free to call us at 330-343-8863. You may also reach us by email [email protected] and facebook messenger for any non-urgent questions.
