CORONAVIRUS (covid-19) and your eye exam

 UPDATED APRIL 27, 2020

Professional Eye Care has been closely monitoring COVID-19 development and we continue to be committed to the best practices as outlined by federal, state & local officials.  In compliance federal & state association recommendations, we will be opening up the office to care beyond urgent and medical eye care to wellness eye exams beginning May 4, and therefore will be expanding our hours as outlined below.

Monday 9am-4pm
Tuesday 9am-4pm with later appointments available upon request
Wednesday 9am-2pm
Thursday 9am-4pm with later appointments available upon request
Friday 9am-2pm

The health and safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. Please review the following precautions being implemented prior to your appointment:

1. Reschedule if you are sick.
To protect all who visit our offices, we are asking that anyone presenting of acute respiratory illness, fever, cough, shortness of breath, or has had known contact with a COVID19 to please reschedule any non-emergent visit.

2. Wear a Mask
Staff, patients and guests will be required to wear a face mask or covering while in the facility.

3. Limit guests
We ask that you refrain from bringing additional persons to your appointment, and when needed that you limit it to one guest only, and have only one adult accompanying a minor.

4. Do your paperwork online or over the phone
We will ask you to update your contact information, insurance information, and medical history online via our website or over the phone prior to your appointment.

5. Make an appointment or call ahead
We will be limiting “walk-in” traffic, and ask that you call ahead prior to arriving at the office. Please make an appointment for glasses pick-up/adjustments/repairs or to view frames in the optical in order to reduce the number of people in the office at one time. We will be happy to offer curbside pick-ups for those who do not wish to enter the facility.

6. Have it shipped!
We will continue to ship contact lens supplies directly to your home.

7. Consider Telehealth
We do have available the option for a phone consultation or a HIPAA compliant video/webcam consultation for problem-focused visits such as irritated eyes or puffy eyelids. Our higher risk patients may want to start here prior to being seen at the office. Please call us and we can determine if this is right for you.

8. Wash hands, use hand sanitizer, do not touch your face/mask
As providers of medical eye care services, we have always maintained strict infection control policies and procedures. In response to COVID19, we have increased these efforts as outlined by the Center for Disease Control, including greater frequency of disinfection of shared items like tabletop surfaces, door handles, eyeglass frames, & pens, as well as the removal of nonessential shared items like magazines and toys from our waiting area. We are practicing diligent hand-washing and liberal use of hand sanitizers as well as social distancing when possible.

We strive to make you feel safe and comfortable at our office. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your office visit, feel free to call us at 330-343-8863. You may also reach us by email professionaleyetusc@outlook.com and facebook messenger for any non-urgent questions.
